　　“琦琦，你学了这么多年的英语，也教我几句好了。”爸爸突然心血来潮，要我教他学英语，反正我也闲着没事，就当一回英语老师吧。“好吧，我就是蔡老师，你叫我Miss Cai好了。”

　　英语课开始，我迫不及待地想当一回老师，马上便开口了：“同学，你会说ABC到Z吗？”我想知道我的学生会不会“最基本的英语常识”。“这个当然会啊,A，B，C……”学生也想展示一下自己原有的一些英语能力，没想到26个字母，他就说错了6个，落了3个，太酷了，我看学生可以茅遂自荐去当原始人了，如今的社会，哪个中国人不会说“A-Z”？这个学生基础太差了。算了，“A，B，C”就不学啦，直接教他单词好了。

　　我面对我的学生，严肃地说：“你既然连那个也不会，哎，我也不追究了，我们现在开始学习简单的单词。”学生愣愣地点点头，说：“蔡老师，我连‘A，B，C’都不会，单词我就更不知道了。”我顿时火冒三丈，怒气冲冲的说：“你不会、不知道，所以我才教你，你要知道的话，就不用我教了嘛。”哎！气死我也，这个不听话的学生，脑袋笨点也就算了，竟然也不尊重老师。算了，先教他几个单词再说。“我们先学……就说‘English’,你知道它是什么意思吗？”我语气缓和了很多，问道。学生一脸茫然，摇头说：“不知道。”“‘English’的意思是英语，跟我读一遍，‘English’,英格雷迂。”学生也兴奋地跟着说：“英格伦顿？一个雷丝？”天哪，我……我无语，我怀疑学生的耳朵或舌头有严重问题。我又不厌其烦地强调了一遍：“英格雷迂！”学生自信满满、昂首挺胸地说：“英——格……格，格，格什么的？好像忘了。”NO，我的.天，我的学生不止耳朵、舌头有大问题，连记性也有毛病。我面对学生，有些不知所措。

　　“老师，我来考考你吧，我说中文，你说英文，怎么样？”学生嬉皮笑脸地问道。“行，行，行。”我随口说。“车子。”这个简单嘛，一年级就教过。我脱口而出：“卡尔（car）。”“那么——说‘笨蛋’的英文！”天哪，学生的人品难道也有问题吗？我愤怒的说：“英国人品德好，才不说脏话，哪像你这样？！”“哎。”学生感叹道，“这也说明了一个问题——你的英语水平相当差，这个老师当得相当不合格啊！”“……”

　　Nowadays, many college boys and girls take part-time jobs in their spare time. Some are employed by the companies near the campus, working as office clerks or computer programmers. Others have become salespersons for the commercial businesses. Foreign language students may serve as interpreters or translators where international cooperation is carried out. Or they may become tour guides for travel agencies. Also, it is a common practice for girl students to become governesses helping children with their school work in their homes.

　　Many people, including some professors and parents, make no secret of their disapproval of this. On the one hand, they argue that academic pursuit is the main task for college students and that taking part-time jobs distracts their attention and consumes a lot of energy needed. On the other hand, professors and parents tend to believe that college boys and girls need to further cultivate their personality and develop their sense of responsibility before they can be ready for any serious jobs.

　　But in my opinion, every coin has two sides. It is true that the students’ major task is to study. It is also true that taking part-time jobs will take a lot of time and energy. However, if the students can learn to arrange their time properly, the professors and parents might as well be relieved from all their worries. As many students take jobs related to their fields of study, they can gain some first-hand experience instead of being distracted from their study. Moreover, treated as full adults on their part-time jobs, they will develop their sense of responsibility very soon. When they finally graduate, they will find themselves in a more agreeable social environment.

　　First of all, we won’t feel so lonely if we keep pets. For most people, they are working outside while they don’t have any companions by their side. Hence, if they raise pets, then they can play with pets rather than stay alone. Besides, most people deem pets as their best friends. When people feel depressed, then they can talk to their pets to relieve themselves.

　　首先，我们养宠物不会感到孤单。许多人都在外面工作，没有同伴在身边。但是，如果养宠物的话，他们就不会自己呆着，而是有宠物相伴。而且，人们也会把宠物视为自己的'好朋友，当感觉到难过的时候，宠物不会让他们太难过。

　　Secondly, pets can help us in some special cases. You can ask your pets to do certain things for you to some extent. For example, we have many trained dogs that can guide the blind people to anywhere they want as if those dogs are their eyes.

　　All in all, keeping pets at home benefits us a lot. When we are depressed, pets can make us happy. What’s more, pets can help us in certain situations.
