选择修饰词的高考英语复习整理

例一2007年高考英语天津卷单项选择第9题：

A. normal B. usual
C. regular D. common
答案C.regular，定期的，固定的。这里是“到天津机场的定点班车”
例二2007年高考英语天津卷单项选择第14题：
The final score of the basketball match was 93-94.We were only ________ beaten.
A. nearly B. slightly
C. narrowly D. lightly
答案C.were narrowly beaten勉强被击败。narrow与victory，majority等搭配，可以指“win etc that is only just achieved or happens by only a small amount ”。本题容易误选 B.
例三2006年高考英语天津卷单项选择第13题：
Fitness is important in sport， but of at least importance are skills.
A. fair B. reasonable C. equal D. proper
答案C.equal，同等的，“身体素质和技巧‘同等’重要。”
例四2005年高考英语天津卷单项选择第6题：
If it is quite _______ to you， I will visit you next Tuesday.
A. convenient B. fair
C. easy D. comfortable
答案A.convenient，方便的，便利的，合宜的。“如果时间方便的话…”
例五2004年高考英语天津卷单项选择第27题：
Mr. Smith used to smoke but he has given it up.
A. seriously B. heavily
C. badly D. hardly
答案B.heavily，很多的，大量的;另外如rain heavily， drink heavily等。本题容易误选A.
尽管形容词和副词在单项选择中，每年只有一两道题，但它们都是相对失分较多的题。怎样才能答好形容词和副词的题目呢?
一、要正确判断出是形容词还是副词
从构词法来说，有的形容词是由名词+ly而成，如friendly，manly，orderly等等;很多副词是由形容词+ly而成，如carefully，strongly，continuously等等。同样是-ly的结尾，要判断好哪些是形容词，哪些是副词，有的题目其实就是判断词性。
例一：What he said sounds 。
A.nicely B.pleasantly
C.friendly D.wonderfully
答案C.sound是连系动词，后面要求用形容词做表语，而题项中A、B、D都是副词，只有friendly是形容词。
例二： —— Is it that the spaceship will be launched(发射) within this week?
—— No， I don‘t think so.
A. probably B. perhaps
C. possibly D. likely
答案D.likely兼做形容词和副词。在这里，需要用形容词做表语;而其他几个词都是副词。
