　　边城写的是一个恋爱的故事，情节简朴优美，湘西山城茶峒掌水码头顺顺的两个儿子天保和傩送，同时爱上了城边碧溪老船夫的孙女翠翠。但翠翠心里爱的却是傩送，当天保明白了这个三角恋爱的实情，深知不能勉强，主动退出了竞争，驾船下辰州，好忘却那里的一切，却不幸遇难，傩送虽然仍然爱着翠翠，但哥哥为此而死，使他心中压抑，又对老船夫有误会，也在痛苦中离家去了桃源。而翠翠独自承担所有的变故，在等着，等着那个也许永远不回来，也许明天回来的人。

　　如诗的边城，诗意地演绎着人生，诗意地演绎着生活。书中所示的人性美浸透着完美，而翠翠的无限期等待又显示着不完美。她的爱情悲剧可以说是那个年代造成的，她和傩送本来完全可以结合在一起，培育出美丽的爱情之花，可惜二人却失之交臂，留下了悠长的遗憾。

　　而现在谁会放弃自己的爱情呢？在当今这个社会谁主动放弃自己想要的东西，完美的爱情都是我们想要追寻的。在《边城》中傩送为了亲情而放弃了爱情，亲情固然重要，但为了亲情而放弃了爱情，也是可悲的。而翠又在不知道天保是因不能得到她的爱而忧郁出走落水身亡，不知道傩送是因为不能得到她的爱而离乡远行，也不知道爷爷突然离世全是由于替自己的幸福思虑奔忙而心力交瘁。后来在陪伴她的杨马兵向她说明后，她才如梦初醒，这实在让人不免为她感到惋惜和可悲。

　　故事就这样结束了，结局怎样？给人留下了悬念，傩送最后回来了吗？她们俩最后在一起了吗？我不禁陷入了幻想之中，希望他们有情人能终成眷属。看过《边城》，让我对世间完美的爱情又一次产生了怀疑，对人性多了一份了解，但又明白了自己的幸福就应该去争取，争取了，得不到，也就没有什么可遗憾的了。

　　边城就是这么一出健康纯洁，而又弥漫有淡淡哀愁和浓浓诗意的爱情悲剧和人性的悲剧。
